*Anton Chekhov was born on 29 January 1860 in Russia.He is well-known dramatist and short story writer.He graduated as a medical doctor in 1884 .He married Olga K nipper in 1901.H wrote a number of short stories and plays.His major works include ISLAND OF SAKHALIN (ESSAY),UNCLE VANYA , THREE SISTERS ,SEAGULL ,CHERRY ORCHARD (PLAYS),THE BIRD MARKET,BOOTS ,THE LOTTERY TICKET,THE CHEMIST'S WIFE ,DREAMS,etc.He was awarded pushkin prize. He passed away on 15 July 1904 in Badenweiler , Germany.
