SILK ROUTE

 In ancient times , a network of caravan trails stretched from China across central Asia and eventually all the way down to Rome ,a 10,000 mile round trip. This was the silk Route , which served as important means of businesss relations and cultural exchanges between the East and the West.In addition to Silk, the route carried many other precious commodities ,such as gold , ivory and spices.The Silk Road was also a route for the exchange of information and ideas.Buddhism travelled from the Indian Subcontinent to China by the Silk Road.
