INTERNATIONAL YOGA DAY


                  

                   [The Theme Selected for this year's International Yoga Day of Yoga 2023 is " Yoga for Vasudhaiva Kutumbakam",which represents our shared desire for "One Earth,One Family,One Future"]

       International Yoga Day is celebrated every year on June 21st to promote the numerous benefits of practicing yoga.Indian Prime Minister  put forwarded the concept of yoga day in 2014,while his speech at the 69th session of the UN General Assembly.On December 11,2014,all 193 member states of United Nations unanimously agreed to observe the International Day of Yoga on June 21.The Inaugural celebration occured on June 21,2015.Millions of  People  around the world participated in the Yoga events on this day, and the event widely covered by mass media.Since then,International Yoga Day has become a global phenomenon,and it is now celebrated in over 190 countries.

                                          

   The Chosen date coincides with the summer solstice, the longest day of the Year in the Northern Hemisphere.This day serves as a platform to raise awareness about the holistic approach to well-being that yoga offers.Yoga fosters mindfulness,stress reduction,and overall health and vitality.Yoga is an ancient physical,mental and spiritual practice that orginated in India.Yoga was developed as a way to interconnect the soul,mind and body to step closer into enlightenment.The word ' Yoga' derived from Sanskrit.The word 'Yoga' means union.So,It is a union of the individual spirit with the universal spirit of God.

           "Yoga is the journey of the self,through the self,to the self"-The Bhagavad Gita    .Yoga is an art and science for a healthy living.International Yoga Day is a golden opportunity to learn more about yoga and its benefits.
