Ponnedutham Kuzhi is a place between Chandhanappally and Edathitta in Pathanamthitta district.The place name 'Ponneduthamkuzhi' is derived from the Malayalam word Ponnedukkam Kuzhi.The meaning of the Malayalam word 'Ponneduthamkuzhi' is goldmine. In ancient times, gold was extracted from here, and it was a gold mining area. This place was once inhabited by the Goldsmith (Thattan) community. Later, the importance of this place was reduced to just a place name.
